Notice announcing Final EA decision

Link to EA Assessment

The VA has announced the release of the DRAFT Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) Seismic Retrofit, Parking Additions and Improvements Project.

The Draft EA evaluates the potential environmental effects of proposed seismic upgrades and improvements at the Portland Veterans Administration Medical Center.

The Draft EA dated February 14 is available for review online at https://www.cfm.va.gov/environmental/index.asp or by email upon request . A hard copy for review is on file at the Multnomah County Central Library.

The 30- day comment period closed March 15, 2022.

The Homestead Neighborhood Association has met numerous times with VA staff to gain more clarity about this project. Much of Phase I and Phase II are in the conceptual stage, yet they are covered in the DRAFT EA.

For additional questions, please contact Mr. Patrick Read, VA Environmental Engineer, at patrick.read@va.gov. Reference “Portland VAMC Draft EA” in your correspondence.
